Slenderbrown Bark Scorpion
Centruroides gracilis (Scorpiones: Buthidae)

Bark Scorpions are usually small, agile, and very fast scorpions. There are many species in the genus Centruroides. These scorpions can hide in and escape from very small spaces. They climb well and some species can be found in buildings. Centruroides gracilis has a worse sting than some of its relatives; therefore, these scorpions should be regarded with caution. This species is native to Central America and has been introduced to other parts of the world (Ove Rein 2000).

***Smokey***

I got Smokey on 4/5/04 from Har Mar Pet Shop (along with Cinder and Searie). He is like my other bark scorpions: extremely fast and skittish. I don't mess with him too much for this reason.
